The Geographic Society of Chicago WELCOME TO THE GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF CHICAGO The Geographic Society of Chicago GSC is involved with anything and everything related to the study of geography. Our members and contributors come from all walks of life all sharing one thing an unrelenting love and devotion to geographical pursuits. Established in 1898 by a group of geography professors in order to promote and celebrate the study of geography the GSC today is comprised of professional geographers teachers business and government leaders as well as interested members of the public. Together our board and membership provide education opportunities for students and educators assist in building geographic materials collections in educational and cultural institutions promote new and emerging technologies in problem solving and much more.
