Madeline Island Community Garden | La Pointe Wisconsin Growing Food Building Community Growing Island Food Security Land Statement The Madeline Island Community Garden acknowledges that we garden on the land of the ancestral and contemporary Anishinaabe home to the Ojibwe people. We affirm our commitment to supportcommunity wide discussion and educationabout indigenous sovereignty and history and to encourage respect for the stories and sacredness this land has for the Ojibwe people. The garden offers a place for gardeners to grow their own food as well as providing seasonal produce for the food pantry at St. Johns Church.
