Welcome to the Lloyd - Lloyd Library Welcome to the Lloyd The Lloyd Library and Museum is a world renowned independent research library and exhibit space devoted to bringing science art and history to life. Considered one of Cincinnatis treasures the Lloyd Library and Museum was established by three brothers John Uri Nelson Ashley and Curtis Gates Lloyd pharmacists who manufactured botanical drugs in Cincinnati beginning in the late 19th century. In a previous Lloyd Library program, Dr. Maria “Bat” Vorontsova of Kew Gardens shared a powerful insight: “We try to apply something we call Nature Based Solutions… when people feel a bit more financially and economically secure, then we find that they become a lot more ready to look at plants and appreciate their flora and safeguard the biodiversity as well. ” This idea of linking conservation with community well-being is at the heart of our upcoming in-person event: Conservation in Action: Empowering Communities and Protecting Kenya’s Wildlife Join us on Wednesday, June 25 from 7-8 PM as we spotlight real-world stories of how education, sustainable livelihoods, and local leadership are helping to preserve Kenya’s biodiversity and uplift communities.
