WOLF FACT WEDNESDAY 🐺Loss of habitat and persecution by humans are the major threats to wolves in the wild. Gray wolves were one of the first species placed on the Endangered Species list when it was created, though their endangered status has fluctuated over the past few decades, especially in the Northern Rockies where their population has grown since their reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park in 1995. Their conservation status remains a point of contention, and there are still annual hunting bounties in areas where their populations have recovered. Despite this ongoing tension, conservation groups continue to discover new and innovative ways for rachers to coexist with wolves without resulting in lethal methods. (fb)
