Earlier this week, the Stroke Team from Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital visited us to commend one of our crews for their exceptional care of a stroke patient. Each quarter, the HM Willowbrook Stroke Team honors EMS crews with the fastest Door-to-Needle and Door-to-Groin times. The Door-to-Groin Puncture (DTP) time refers to the period from a patient's arrival at the hospital to the first pass with a thrombectomy device. The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recommend a DTP time of under 90 minutes for patients arriving directly at the hospital. Congratulations to Tiffany Hanes, Neely Cole, and Kyrie Cassin for achieving the fastest Door-to-Groin time in Q4 of 2024! Their quick recognition of the patient's condition, swift notification to the hospital of the patient’s urgency, and efficient teamwork resulted in a highly favorable outcome for the patient.
