The Changing Minds Young Filmmaker Festival is back in 2025! 🎬 Join us on Saturday, May 17, for an unforgettable evening of bold, thought-provoking films created by talented young filmmakers (ages 15-25) from NYC and beyond. These powerful short films challenge stigma and explore critical mental health themes, including identity, anxiety, and resilience. This special 10th-anniversary lineup features a incredible selection of films, plus a live panel discussion and audience Q&A with the filmmakers themselves. 🎟 Tickets are just $10, and registration is required! 📅 WHEN: Saturday, May 17 | 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. 📍 WHERE: Village East Cinema (@villageeastbyangelika ) Learn more and get your tickets at changingmindsfilmfestival.org (linkinbio). We can’t wait to see you there! (huge thanks to @lmtischfund for the support!) #ChangingMinds #FilmForChange #MentalHealthMatters #YoungFilmmakers #NYCFilmmakers #FilmFestival (fb)
New York’s Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program isn’t the answer—it’s part of the problem. Rather than investing in order to expand access to voluntary, person-centered care that we know works, AOT forces people into treatment they do not want and is not effective. Research shows no clear benefit to coercion, yet communities of color continue to be disproportionately impacted. Community Access urges New York to invest in housing, peer-led services, and crisis response programs instead of forced treatment. Read our new position paper to learn more: (fb)
