Congregation Zemach David
Ezras Mitzor provides assistance to needy families. A family’s circumstances are carefully reviewed by Rabbi Rubin in consultation with prominent community members and other clergymen. Assistance is given in the form of either an outright cash allowance or by making a payment to a third party provider. For example, the organization has paid medical bills for sick parties, supermarket bills for food for families who cannot afford these expenses, mortgage payments for individuals who might be facing forclosure actions, tuition payments to schools for students who are being faced with expulsion because their parents can no longer afford to send them to school, clothing store bills where children need new clothes, and in a not so rare occurrence, funeral bills when a family could not afford to bury a loved one. further the organization may help someone obtain job training or counseling for a new position where an individual has been laid off by his employer.
