Steinway Society of Central Florida Inc.

OUR MISSION: The Society stimulates and nourishes the musical knowledge and talents of disadvantaged children in Central Florida. The Steinway Society of Central Florida is established for the following purposes:  To stimulate and nourish the musical knowledge and artistic talents of disadvantaged youth. To provide an opportunity for young piano students, proficient in their skills, to work toward a higher level of excellence. To encourage performance experience, audition preparation, and scholarship assistance for further study in classical and jazz piano.  To provide musically talented students with a loaner piano and/or tuition for piano lessons through the establishment of a Piano Bank. As a totally volunteer organization, administrative expenses are kept to a bare minimum.  All monies generated through memberships, contributions, and fundraisers are for the purpose of providing pianos and piano lessons to young students.  The Society also sponsors musical events such as concerts, recitals, workshops, and master classes for the benefit of students and its members. The vast majority of participants in our program come from the poorest areas of the community.  The program is designed to inspire these children to: stay in school, engage in music as a positive after school activity, inhibit the incidence of at-risk behavior, uncover latent talents, and possibly even discover a potential career path.
