Tomorrow, Thursday, April 10th, Manheim Township will be hosting a public meeting to review the Draft Comprehensive Plan 2035, "Getting to a Complete Community." The meeting will bring together the Board of Commissioners, the Comprehensive Plan Committee, the Planning Commission and Comprehensive Focus Group members. The meeting is intended as a high-level review of the Plan draft built around a presentation by our plan consultant, Michael Baker International. Manheim Township residents are invited and welcome to join us at the Manheim Township Public Library tomorrow at 5:30 pm for this important meeting. A big thank you to the 28 volunteers who participated in our litter clean-up event this past Saturday. They worked hard to clear a section of Oregon Pike from Compost Park to Creek Road, as well as Jake Landis Road and part of Pinetown Road. Additionally, they helped clean up the unnamed creek that flows into the Conestoga River. Excellent job, everyone! Some clean-up statistics: 28 volunteers 56 hours 35 bags of trash plus several tires and car parts 875 pounds of litter 2 illegal dumping sites 3 burner phones and a desktop computer 500 cigarette butts and a custom car hood A crumbling $12,000 check! Needless to say, amazing work by all of these volunteers. If you want to get involved as well, you're just in luck! The Manheim Township Sustainability Committee is hosting another clean-up event this Saturday at 8:30 am. They will be gathering at the intersection of Sunnybrook Drive and Pleasure Road to clean up along Pleasure Road. There is ample parking along Sunnybrook. We will be providing bags, gloves, and safety vests. For safety reasons, we are limiting this event to participants aged 13 and older. While warning signs will be posted at both ends of the road, please note that it is a narrow street with limited shoulder space.
