Voices for Children in Nebraska's office will be closed Friday, August 29 – Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day weekend. This holiday is a time to recognize the dignity of work and honor all those laboring for a more just, equitable, and inclusive future for children and families in Nebraska. We’ll be back on Tuesday, September 2, re-energized to continue this important work alongside you.

And finally… our last honoree spotlight of 2025 goes to Erskine Gipson. After his family lost everything in Hurricane Katrina and moved to Omaha, Erskine’s childhood was marked by struggles with food and housing insecurity and, later, parental incarceration. These challenges led to missed school and a truancy case that spiraled into years of court involvement.
