The Celebrate! Maya Project shares the legacy of Dr. Maya Angelou with Arkansas youth and communities. We're Planting Seeds and Growing Dreams. Celebrating Maya Angelou's remarkable life and legacy though service to youth and communities To celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Maya Angelou throughout the state of Arkansas; while educating Arkansas about her contributions to her childhood home of Arkansas, and to the world. Utilizing her "Still I Rise" poem as a blueprint to help youths discover their own voices and their own propensity for success; working with schools and communities to create literacy and service initiatives; giving scholarships to deserving graduating seniors and poetry awards to emerging Maya Poets; incorporating community service and individual responsibility into our arts and literacy initiatives - as Dr. Angelou used her gifts to help lift others. Keeping her name and her legacy alive through our children.
