Imagine transforming a site of abandoned industrial buildings into a vibrant mixed-use community. Big-D Construction did just that in downtown Salt Lake City. The company was contracted to build four midrise residential buildings and a two-story retail space, totaling over 750,000 square feet, with amenities that promote a pedestrian-friendly environment. The project emphasized safety through a comprehensive plan and innovative construction techniques – including marathon concrete pours – while also fostering a live/work/play community that supports local businesses and reduces carbon emissions.
