Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) protects the rights of refugee & immigrant children throughout their migration journey. We stand with immigrant and refugee children alone throughout their journey to safety. In the U.S. and internationally, KIND meets children where they are. We are global experts on the rights and needs of unaccompanied and separated children and the laws, policies, and practices that affect them. In response to multiple dangers faced by unaccompanied and separated immigrant and refugee children and the need for a holistic, long-term approach, KIND works to address current challenges head-on, create systemic change, and provide critical services at all points during a child’s journey.

This contract helps protect children against trafficking exploitation and other abuses. We Protect Children Every Step of the Way Our Mission KIND will achieve our mission by Ensuring that no child appears in immigration court without high quality legal representation Advancing laws policies and practices that ensure childrens protection and uphold their right to due process and fundamental fairness and Promoting in countries of origin transit and destination durable solutions to child migration that are grounded in the best interests of the child and ensure that no child is forced to involuntarily migrate.
