Feeding The Carolinas
As students go back to school, there's one thing on our mind – hungry kids. We know that a nourished student is a successful student, a capable student. So far in our states, kids access no-cost meals at school through CEP (community eligibility provision), a federal program administered by the USDA.

SNAP funding will be reduced by $186 billion over 10 years, shifting costs to states and adding new barriers for parents, older adults, veterans, and others already facing hunger. In the Carolinas alone, here's what funding is needed: 🍽 NC: $292M (210M meals) 🍽 SC: $129M (48M meals) And that’s not all — nutrition education funding is gone entirely. These cuts aren't just numbers — they’re meals, livelihoods, and futures.
