Society for History of Discoveries - Home OF DISCOVERIES The Society for the History of Discoveries was formed to stimulate interest in teaching research and publishing the history of geographical exploration and its impact Founded in 1960 the Society includes members from several academic disciplines as well as archivists and librarians nonaffiliated scholars and laypersons with an interest in history. We are open to all with an interest in the subject. MAKE A DONATION ABOUT MEMBERSHIP The Society currently includes approximately 200 members. We have established scholars as well as younger academics college students graduate and undergraduate and many others who who have careers in other fields but who have an interest in history and exploration.
