Materials & Applications (M&A) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the public engagement of critical and experimental architecture. Materials & Applications (M&A) is a Los Angeles-based non-profit cultural organization dedicated to exploring the role of architecture in the public sphere through critical exhibitions and programs. M&A commissions new works that give space to exceptional experiments across multiple disciplines, while challenging the relationship between art, architecture, and public encounters. Through an annual calendar of programs, including installations, performances, workshops, and conversations, we explore how art and architecture can transform underutilized spaces into unexpected encounters.

Materials & Applications Donations to this mutual aid fund will be used to purchase emergency supplies andor transferred directly to a network of mutual aid groups that MA partners with including SELAH and Water Drop LA. Specifically during the 2025 January Wildfires we will also run resources directly to local wildfire evacuation centers. Materials Applications MA is a Los Angelesbased organization pursuing a public participatory and just culture of experimentation in architecture. MA presents new ideas in architecture and art through built installations and critical programs.

Join us this Sunday from 10am-2pm as LA Design Weekend @ladesignweekend swings through Echo Park to highlight and celebrate local design practices and spaces. The M&A Storefront space will be open for an extended viewing of ππ―ππ‘π’ πππ£π’ βπ₯ππ°π±π¦π±πΆ π π¬π΅. Artists Strat Coffman @stratbag and Adam Miller @pneustars will be on-site to lead walkthroughs and answer questions.
