Moving Architects Inc NFP
The Moving Architects (TMA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in Chicago in 2007 by Erin Carlisle Norton and relocated to New York City in summer 2013. The company has toured and taught internationally through the US Department of State to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan; Guatemala City; and throughout Morocco with the Action 5 Danse Festival and US Embassy, while also teaching and presenting evening-length and short works throughout the Chicago area, Midwest, and East Coast in professional, academic, and community settings and festivals. As a performance and teaching company, TMA supports local and international artists through dance class and performance opportunities as well as the "Airings and Sharings" work in progress and salon series. The company continues to research new projects in both community and international settings and explore the use of digital technologies as creative and conceptual tools. This has led Norton to research choreographic methods that look at 'distance' both virtually and culturally.
