Point Man International Ministries
Overview
Point Man International Ministries (PMIM) is a U.S. nonprofit organization focused on providing spiritual and emotional healing to veterans and their families, particularly those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Founded in 1984 by Bill Landreth, a Vietnam veteran, the organization aims to offer support through a network of small groups known as Outposts and Homefronts across the country.
Mission and Activities
PMIM's mission centers on connecting veterans and their families who are struggling with the aftermath of military service to a supportive community. They achieve this through a system of Outposts and Homefront groups, where members can share their experiences and find fellowship and support. PMIM maintains an evangelical purpose, using the gospel of Jesus Christ and Biblical principles to facilitate healing and restoration.
The organization participates in various activities, including publishing materials, organizing conferences, and conducting community outreach programs such as hospital visits and welcome home initiatives. Additionally, PMIM engages in veteran stand-down events, which address issues like homelessness and offer support to veterans in need.
History
Point Man International Ministries was established after Bill Landreth noticed a pattern of arresting the same veterans repeatedly during his time as a police officer in Seattle. Recognizing these individuals as fellow Vietnam veterans struggling to reintegrate into civilian life, Landreth began meeting with them for fellowship and prayer. The early gatherings evolved into PMIM, with Chuck Dean further developing the organization into the current system of support groups across the U.S.
Leadership and Structure
PMIM is led by veterans from various backgrounds and conflicts. The organization operates under a framework that emphasizes Christian faith and interdenominational cooperation, welcoming leaders from diverse Christian denominations who align with their evangelical statement of faith.
Financials
In recent years, PMIM has received financial support through grants and contributions. Their operations are funded by donations and fundraising events, with total revenues in the range of $112,430 as reported in fiscal year 2023.
Challenges
There have been reports of potential operational changes or mergers, as indicated by some missing IRS filings. However, this information is not definitive, and the organization's status remains subject to clarification.

Welcome to Pointman International Ministries. Message from the President When I came home from Iraq in November of 2003 I did not know anything about PTSD. I definitely did not think I was affected by it but others around me could see that something was very different about me. After I was referred to the clinic that diagnosed me with it I struggled and things didnt feel quite real.
