Happy 90th Anniversary. The roots of Friedman Place go back to April 2, 1935, when our predecessor, the nonprofit Association for Jewish Blind (later known as the Kagan Home) was created. The first building was on Douglas Boulevard in Chicago and the much larger one on Foster Avenue opened in 1956.
