In Loving Memory of Helen Spratt Murchison Lane (1924–2025) We mourn the loss and celebrate the legacy of Helen Lane, who passed away on May 18 at the age of 100. A founding member of the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, Helen was a tireless champion for the arts, education, and civic life in our community. Her remarkable century was defined by generosity, leadership, and a joyful commitment to service. As Diana Donovan so beautifully said: “The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville was born from the vision and vitality of three extraordinary philanthropic women—Jacqueline Holmes, Ann Baker, and Helen Lane. All trailblazers whose passion for service and cultural enrichment laid the foundation for generations. Among them, Helen Lane, the final founder to pass, lived a century with unwavering grace and purpose—curating not only art but a legacy of inspiration. Together, their leadership transformed Jacksonville’s cultural landscape, proving that when civic cultural leaders champion with one collective voice, all communities and sectors flourish.” We are deeply grateful for Helen’s life and her lasting impact on Jacksonville. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the community she helped to shape. 📸 Evergreen Jax (fb)

The Cultural Service Grant Program (CSGP) generated nearly $124 million in downtown economic impact last year — all powered by arts and culture. This is what happens when creativity and investment come together. Arts and culture drive our city forward. Jacksonville’s Cultural Service Grant Program (CSGP) is a powerful catalyst for the City of Jacksonville’s economic vitality. By investing in the city’s nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, the program fuels over a 1000+ jobs, drive local spending, benefit small businesses, education programing, as well as destination building experiences that enrich residents’ lives and attract visitors. 📸 Ally Brody #MoreForYou #MoreArtCulture (fb)
