Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary Our History The Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary BCAS a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization was founded in 2009 by Debbie and David Faulkner on their 40 ac ranch in Western Colorado. A state of the art animal shelter facility was constructed and operated as the largest animal shelter in Delta County Colorado for 9 years. Over 2000 dogs came through the shelter doors. The shelter was closed in August of 2018 due to the escalation of Davids Alzheimers disease.
