WILDISH COMMUNITY THEATER IS TO PROVIDE EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD WITH HIGH QUALITY THEATER FACILITIES AT REASONABLE PRICES TO ASSURE ACCESS AND USE BY A WIDE VARIETY OF NON-PROFIT PERFORMING ARTS GROUPS.

Richard E. Wildish Community Theater

The Richard E. Wildish Community Theater is a nonprofit organization located in Springfield, Oregon, dedicated to providing a versatile performance space for the arts. Established in November 2006, the theater serves as a cultural hub for the greater Springfield area, offering a venue that accommodates a wide range of artistic expression including theater productions, concerts, dance performances, and community events.

History

Originally opened as the McKenzie Theater in 1946, the venue went through several transformations before being renovated and rebranded as the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater. The redesign aimed to create a modern facility that retains the charm of its historic roots. The theater was developed by Springfield Renaissance Development Corporation and has since become a key venue for various local arts organizations.

Facilities

The Wildish Community Theater features a seating capacity of 283 in a stadium-style configuration, ensuring an excellent view and acoustics from every seat. The theater is equipped with a flexible stage that can accommodate a variety of performances, from dramatic plays to musical acts.

In addition to the main stage, the venue offers amenities aimed at enhancing accessibility, including a state-of-the-art hearing loop system for patrons with hearing aids or cochlear implants.
