Blue Water Safe Horizon's mission is to increase awareness of intimate partner and sexual violence, to empower survivors, and work for social change. Nonprofit working to end domestic/sexual violence in St Clair County, MI thru advocacy and education. Safe Horizons (formerly DARES)was founded as the Rape Elimination Task Force in 1978. Initially providing services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, it began providing shelter and support services to homeless individuals and families in 1991. Today services include shelter and support, case management, advocacy for victims at emergency rooms and in court, community education and systems advocacy.
