Huntsville Police: One killed, one injured in wreck on Drake Ave. HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Huntsville Police have provided more information regarding a Monday morning fatal wreck on Drake Ave. Huntsville Police officers responded to the wreck at 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Drake Ave. and Artie St. An investigator determined the driver of the box truck lost control while traveling east on Drake Ave., causing the vehicle to overturn and slide into the westbound lanes. The SUV driver attempted to evade the truck but was unable to.Officials say a box truck and an SUV collided. The driver of the box truck did not survive the crash and the SUV driver sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover. The person killed in the wreck has not been identified and officials say no criminal charges are expected at this time.
