Save the Wild Chinchillas, Inc.
Save the Wild Chinchillas, founded in 1997, grew out of the need to protect an endangered chinchillas. Our goal is to restore essential habitat for endangered chinchillas while deterring habitat degradation in this ecosystem. Our purpose is to enhance and repair vegetation that is known to be utilized by wild chinchillas for shelter, cover and food. This is achieved through direct planting of seedlings into restoration areas and by droning seeds into corridors between colonies. Research and education are two other methods we use to preserve these endangered animals in the wilds.
