MAFIA - Make A Friend in Animals Make a Friend in Animals MAFIA Dededicated to saving abused abandoned and unwanted pets in Fairfield County South Carolina as well as other rural counties EVOLUTION OF MAFIA MAFIA was cofounded and incorporated in 2003 under the name of Fairfield Animal Rescue FAR as a 501c3 nonprofit charity by two residents of Winnsboro South Carolina who wanted to begin a rescue for rehoming abused and abandoned pets in Fairfield County. Since that time we have rehomed hundreds of dogs and cats who have come to us from all over the state and some have gone to new homes as far away as Pennsylvania and Florida. Home visits are required prior to adoption even for longdistance placements to ensure that the placement is within our strict guidelines. We have a life interest in every pet we rescue and never discard a pet regardless of their medical condition aging or failure to receive a permanent home.
