Saint Augustine of Canterbury
A Roman Catholic Community of The Personal Ordinariate of The Chair of Saint Peter located San Diego. St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church is a mission community of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. Founded by Pope Benedict XVI with an eye to what Pope St. John Paul II called the "New Evangelization," the ordinariate has a particular call to Christian unity and is a form of "realized ecumenism." In building a new parish in San Diego county, we hope first to provide an open door into the Catholic Church for all those who have been nurtured by the various Protestant traditions. Our identity and culture is centered on following Christ in the beauty of holiness.
