Home - Hobart Historical Society, Inc.

The Hobart Historical Society was founded in 1965 to preserve our precious local history for future In short, we describe our primary mission as preserving the past to benefit the future. Our Hobart Historical Society was founded in 1965 and has been in continuous operation ever since. We operate a museum located in a former Carnegie Library that was built in 1914 and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. Our museum houses exhibits that include artifacts going back to the Native American heritage of our region through the founding of our Hobart community in 1847 and other exhibits and artifacts through present day. We operate an active museum that is open and free to the public in our former Carnegie Library building. We offer tours for populations that range in age from preschool children through senior citizens.
