This Mental Health Awareness Month, be kind to your mind 🧠 May is Mental Health Awareness Month and having a toolbox with healthy coping skills ready for us to use can be helpful when we're feeling stressed or experiencing a mental health challenge. A Coping Skills Toolbox with a variety of different options can help us to choose exactly what we need to manage our emotions and stress levels so that we can try to find balance and a state of feeling calm. It might feel hard to know what exactly might help us in a moment of stress or high emotions, so take time figuring out what works best for you and don't be afraid to try new things. Here are 5 examples of healthy coping skills to explore: 👟Physical activity- Move your body in a way that feels good for you, whether that's hitting the gym or going for a walk in nature. 💨Deep breathing- Take a moment to be present and mindful by practicing slow, deep breaths. 🎧Listening to music- Tune out the rest of the world for a little while by listening to some of your favorite music. 🖊 Journaling- Try putting pen to paper to help process your thoughts and feelings. 🍳 Enjoy a hobby- Set aside time to enjoy something you love. #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness (fb)
