🐝 🍎 🌳 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝 💛 🐝 Did you know EarthDance is home to one of the most diverse pollinator populations in the region? There are 209 known species of bees in the St. Louis area, many of which call this land home. EarthDance is also home to one of the rarest bees in North America, a tree bee called Coelioxys obtusiventris. By design, pollinators have food and shelter on every acre of the farm, and it shows: from nests on the ground to the tallest mulberry tree! 🌼 🥕 🌸 Interplanting flowering perennials with annual vegetable crops provides pollen and habitat for native bees & other pollinators all year long. 🍅 🍐 🌼 🌳 A wide diversity of crops produce a variety of flowers, inviting many different pollinators. 🐝 🐞 🐛 Avoiding chemical sprays protects pollinators.
