Mrs. Edge and several members of the Jasper County Primary Staff presented Mrs. Dawn Corrigan with a generous amount of money collected through donations and fundraisers to help support the cost of hospitalizations, doctor care, transportation, etc. while she is fighting an illness. The school had a basket auction through generous donations from staff and parents. Baskets were auctioned off during field day. There was such a variety of baskets for auctioning including summer fun, movie/ game night, craft baskets, and even s'mores baskets. Our community graciously supported this effort to help a dedicated teacher in her many years at JCPS. During our awards celebration, the staff at JCPS bundled teddy bears, balloons, and flowers together to sell to parents as end of the year gifts for their children. All proceeds for this fundraiser were given to Mrs. Corrigan. Many parents and guardians even gave donations as well. Mrs. Edge wants to thank the community and staff of JCPS for loving and supporting Mrs. Corrigan and her family through this time. Mrs. Corrigan has worked at JCPS in kindergarten for twenty nine years. Her dedication and love for this community is undeniable. She is doing well and plans to return to JCPS for even more memories to be made for her FY 26 school year! Several staff members were on hand when Mrs. Edge presented Mrs. Corrigan with all the donation proceeds. At Jasper County Primary School, our First Grade Team has been diving back into previously taught phonics skills with our fun-filled Benchmark Bootcamp! Each day features a special theme that ties into a phonics skill—and on this particular day, Mrs. Paul's class focused on the “pr” blend. To bring the lesson to life, the class read My Principal is a Superhero and brainstormed all the amazing ways Mrs. Edge has been a real-life superhero throughout her years at JCPS. From leading with heart to making every student feel special, their list was long and full of love! To celebrate her, the students crowned Mrs. Edge with her very own Superhero crown and cape, and surprised her with heartfelt letters expressing just how much she means to them. As Mrs. Edge prepares for retirement at the end of this school year, we hope she knows how deeply she is LOVED and how much she will be MISSED! Students are from Amy Paul’s first grade classroom.
