AFTER SCHOOL DANCE FUND
We promote health, exercise and cultural unity through Latin dance education and, produce and financ ASDF was established in 2010. Our mission is to develop youth leadership and promote wellness, heritage and unity through Latin dance education using our after school Latin dance program, which is offered free of charge to over 260 at-risk students annually. ASDF offers meaningful after-school experiences that empower students to learn about their heritage and culture, keep them communicating at home, and motivate them to continue their personal and educational growth in order to become healthy and positive members of our community and global society. Participants learn to perform popular Latin dances and live a healthy lifestyle. Latin dancing becomes a vehicle for increased cultural awareness and pride, while fostering exercise and building community.
After School Dance Fund
The After School Dance Fund is a U.S. nonprofit organization with an Employer Identification Number (EIN) of 273490318. It was founded in 2010 by Ricardo Loaiza, as an extension of the Latin dance program that began in 1999 as a small competition at Seneca Valley High School.
Mission
The organization's mission is to develop youth leadership and promote wellness, heritage, and unity through Latin dance. It aims to enrich the lives of students by providing comprehensive dance education, enhancing physical health, and fostering cultural celebration and unity.
Programs
- MCPS Latin Dance Competition: This annual event, held since 2010, features participation from many Montgomery County high schools. The competition has become a significant platform for students to showcase their skills, fostering discipline and cultural pride.
- Monthly Dance Socials: In partnership with Glen Echo Parks, these socials offer a space for students to learn and connect through Latin dances such as salsa, bachata, and merengue. The events begin with group lessons led by experienced instructors.
- Seniors Showcase: This event allows senior students to choreograph and perform their own dance routines, highlighting their skills and dedication to dance.

After School Dance Fund JUNIOR DIVISION COMPETITION February 23rd 57pm Ten schools will be competing in the Junior Division at Seneca Valley High School. We are expecting 187 students including 32 seniors.
