Did you know that HIV doesn’t prevent someone from becoming a parent? With the right care and treatment, people living with HIV can have HIV-negative babies and experience healthy pregnancies! Thanks to advances in HIV care, individuals who maintain an undetectable viral load (U=U) can’t pass the virus to their baby during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding. It’s an incredible reminder that treatment not only improves health—it keeps the whole family healthy. Here’s what’s important to know: • Being on (or staying on) HIV treatment during pregnancy greatly reduces the chance of passing HIV to the baby. • Regular prenatal care and HIV testing are key—even if you’ve been tested before. • With proper treatment, the risk of transmission during pregnancy, labor or delivery can be less than 1%! At Caracole, we offer free HIV testing, referrals for treatment and compassionate support for people on their reproductive journey. Everyone deserves informed, stigma-free, affirming care. #HIVandPregnancy #UequalsU (fb)

Anyone can have Hepatitis C for years and not even know it. That’s why Hepatitis Testing Day (May 19) is the perfect time to get tested—because knowledge really is power. Hep C is a liver infection spread through blood-to-blood contact. Left untreated, it can lead to serious health problems—but the good news? It’s curable in just 8–12 weeks. Here’s how you can take action: Get Tested – It’s quick, free (if you’ve never been diagnosed before), and could save your life. If you’ve ever shared injection equipment, had an unregulated tattoo or just want peace of mind—come see us for a free Hep C antibody test. Talk About It – Hep C doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Share info with your friends and community—awareness leads to action. Learn more at cdc.gov/hepatitis Get Treated – If you live in Ohio and test positive, you can get treatment from home—including virtual care and meds delivered right to your door.
