🌟Robo Cardinals Shine at Worlds Robotics Event🌟 The Washington Catholic robotics team, 91976A Robo Cardinals, had an outstanding year, earning eight awards: three Tournament Champion titles, two Skills awards, two Create awards, and a Judges Award. These achievements qualified the team to compete at the state level for the third consecutive year. Based on their robot skills score, they also earned the opportunity to advance to the prestigious Worlds Robotics Event. From May 6–8, 2025, the Robo Cardinals ventured to their first Worlds Robotics Event in Dallas, Texas. Determined to compete with the best teams from around the globe, they spent countless hours fine-tuning their robot’s design and programming to ensure it was robust and ready for competition. The event featured 831 teams from across the world, divided into 10 divisions. The Robo Cardinals faced unique challenges, including language barriers while communicating with non-English-speaking alliance teammates and navigating the vast convention center, where the distance from their pit area to the competition fields spanned a quarter mile. Despite these hurdles, the team displayed unwavering effort and determination, dedicating time to coordinating strategies with their alliances and testing them on the practice fields. While they didn’t win all their matches, they proudly achieved a Skills ranking of 93 out of all competing teams and placed 66th in their division. At the event’s conclusion, next season’s competition was unveiled. True to their innovative spirit, the Robo Cardinals were already brainstorming ideas for the upcoming season before leaving the stadium. They hope to continue their winning streak, return to State, and compete at Worlds again next year. (fb)
