From our Founder Jeffrey Zlotnik: As schools get started again and kids start pouring in after summer break, the forgotten ones are often the teachers and administrators that make everything happen! They have their own life also filled with stress, pressure, anxiety and now are expected to be strong and stable for all these children. I am sending a special thank you to Gracie Lococo the Vice Principal of King-Chavez of Excellence Academy and Karl Mueller the Superintendent of Coronado Unified School District for caring so much about the mental and emotional health and well-being of their teachers and administrators. Yesterday I was invited to Coronado High School as they offered a day to help everyone get prepared for the upcoming school year. So many resources made available to about 700 people who work diligently to make the lives of our children better. I was able to lead 3 meditation sessions in an effort to provide a tool for these amazing leaders to cope with the daily stress they experience. Last week I returned to King-Chavez to lead teachers in a refresher course for many of the staff who share meditation with their students. I am grateful for people like Gracie and Karl who have the heart and mind to care for their people. You are both a great example to us all and I am grateful. On behalf of The Meditation Initiative, I look forward to continuing these relationships and working with teachers at their schools to share this beautiful practice so all can be happier and healthier people.
