Indian Performing Arts, Samskriti Samskriti, a Sanskrit word meaning ‘cultural tradition’, is Houston's first organization of its kind. It was established with the vision of becoming an efficient cultural conduit between the East and the West, by presenting the best of Indian performing arts to Houston audiences, and by promoting cross-cultural programs involving artists from India and the US. Samskriti's programs are both unique in content and outstanding in artistic merit, and have not only put Indian art forms on the cultural map of Houston but have helped increase audience appreciation of Indian cultural arts. Samskriti is proud to be a trailblazer in taking Indian dance and music to the mainstream. Samskriti fully agrees with Agnes deMille that "Everything passes; Art alone, enduring, stays to us".
