Welcome new board member Alejandra Baltazar-Carlat!🥳 we have been grateful to connect with her through @_jvyc and are excited about the insights and experience she will bring to the LSA board. Alejandra Baltazar-Carlat,(she/ella) originally from Querétaro, México but emigrated to the United States when she was 14 years old, and has spent 21 years of her life in Tucson which she now considers her home. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Linguistics in 2015, afterwards she attended Grad School in Mexican American Studies with an emphasis in Health. She has worked in the non-profit community for many years and she is currently the Program Director at John Valenzuela Youth Center. Working with kids is one of her greatest passions and has led her into trying new things that she now enjoys doing, like camping, something she never thought she would enjoy doing. Another passion of her own is to create jewelry made out of Polymer Clay. Alejandra launched a small business in May 2020 and has been working with clay ever since, showcasing her creations in different local markets and workshops. (fb)

Speak up TODAY to keep public transit permanently fare free! With Prop 414 failing, fare-free transit is on the chopping block—again. There’s a recommendation from the City Manager to start the process of reinstating fares. Let mayor and council know what it means to YOU and fellow Tucsonans who use public transit and the importance of keeping it free. 🚌 🚌 Join us at the mayor and council meeting today at 4:30pm. Rally outside then speakers ar the meeting to share. . City Hall 255 W Alameda St. (fb)
