SSISTAHFRIENDS PRIMARY MISSION AND PURPOSE IS TO HELP BLACK WOMEN, WOMEN OF COLOR AND THEIR FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES OVERCOME POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS, GRIEF AND LOSS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, AND SUBSTANCE USE AND ABUSE RESULTING FROM HEALTH DISPARITIES AND INEQUITIES, RACISM, SOCIO-ECONOMIC CASTIGATION RACIAL AND ETHNIC TRAUMA, DISCRIMINATION, OPPRESSION, SOCIETAL CONDEMNATION, COMMUNITY VIOLENCE, ISOLATION, AND FEAR THROUGH MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, THERAPY, CRISIS INTERVENTION, PEER ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT SO THAT THEY MAY LIVE A LIFE OF JOY, PEACE, AND FULFILLMENT. OUR SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE SERVING OVER 1,000 WOMEN EXPERIENCING MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS, HOMELESSNESS, SEX TRAFFICKING, DOMESTIC AND INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE. WE PROVIDED VICTIMS ASSISTANCE AND CRISIS COUNSELING FOR WOMEN IN OUR STREET OUTREACH AND VICTIMS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
