The Alliance empowers academic internal medicine professionals and enhances health care through professional development, research, and advocacy. AAIM is the consortium of 5 academically focused organizations representing departments of internal medicine at medical schools and teaching hospitals. AIM is dedicated to the improvement of health care delivery, education, and research in departments of Internal Medicine through professional management. Its objectives are to promote the concept of professional management in departments of Internal Medicine; to provide a forum for discussion of management problems in departments of Internal Medicine; to provide a mechanism for exchange of information; to interact with other organizations in accomplishing these objectives.
