Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County, Inc. is an organizational member of ProLiteracy (www.proliteracy.org). The Foundation mission is to provide long term financial support for Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County, Inc. LVSSC recruits and trains volunteer tutors to carry out two instructional programs for adult learners at no cost to the learner. Adult Basic Literacy (ABL) is for those who need to improve their mastery of reading and writing. English as a Second Language (ESL), teaches non-English-speaking adults to read, write, understand and speak English.
