CPEA builds dialogue between healthcare professionals and patients to help move from current practice to better, and ultimately, best practices. Clinical and Patient Educators Association, a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, was founded in 2010 for the purpose of developing quality, innovative education for healthcare practitioners and the patient communities they serve.

CPEA fosters communication between healthcare professionals and patients and works to improve practitioner competence and patient adherence to appropriate treatment approaches. Education Improves Healthcare Results Improving quality and results in healthcare requires the commitment of two critical stakeholders practitioners providing care and patients seeking care. Effective education for and communication between practitioners and patients lowers costs improves diagnostic accuracy enables greater involvement by patients in healthcare decisions and increases adherence to therapeutic regimens.
