Happy Belated Birthday to our favorite Sock-It Wench!! And Happy Mother's Day too! 💙🤩 Some info about our invaluable bout wizard (the one responsible for the awesome bouts we have! Including the Derby MAYhem happening in a week!): Career: Software Engineer Hobbies/interests: Chickens, ducks and Peafowl. Especially the noisy ones. I love my roosters and my peacocks, although the peahens honk quite loudly. What you love/hate most about rollerskating/derby/practice. I hate that the weekday practices are so late at night! I love learning new skills while getting some exercise. What you think are your strengths in life/your contributions to the league. I'm usually easy to work with and I manage to get bouts to happen Are you on the BOD? What is your role? I am the bout coordinator for Sick Town. What advice would you give new skaters, or people interested in skating? The lower you are, the less distance there is to fall and don't be afraid of falling. How did you choose your name and number? "Sock It Wench" because I wear Sock It To Me Socks. 916 because 9/16" was the size of the socket for our socket wrench we used when working on our old 1970's Camaros. What sparked your interest in roller derby? Won a season pass to watch STRD's bouts, and then my kid joined, and they got me to join. Choose one word that describes you and why? Clumsy. I won't go into my injury history...
