Founded on May 11, 1929, at the University of Texas at Austin, DKG has evolved into an international community with chapters in multiple countries.

Founding and History

DKG was founded by Dr. Annie Webb Blanton, a faculty member at the University of Texas and former Texas state superintendent of public instruction, along with eleven other women educators. The society was established to support equal status for women, advocate for education legislation, and provide financial assistance to women pursuing careers in education.

The mission of DKG is to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Its vision is to lead women educators in impacting education worldwide.
