With both Mother's day and Memorial Day upon us, it's appropriate to share this seldom seen image today. The gent in the Navy uniform is Zane Grey's youngest son, Loren, who served World War II. Thanks for your service, Loren wherever you are in the great hereafter. The lady beside Loren is his mother and Zane Grey's wife, Dolly. Also in the photo are Dolly's other children, Betty and Romer. As many of you know, Dolly taught Zane how to write, ran his business and raised their children during the long months Zane was away fishing or engaged in some other adventure. This is Ed Meyer, Zane Grey's West Society archivist and the primary content manager for this Facebook page. My wife and I are travelling to Scotland early next week. Perhaps while we are there, we will rub shoulders with a member of the McCullough clan who were so important in Zane Grey's Ohio River Trilogy. We will return at the end of May so there might not be many things posted here on our Facebook page.
