Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? Celebrate all month by volunteering in your community! The Portage County Cultural Festival is in need of several volunteers to fill different roles on May 9th &10th. 📣 Check out the various roles here: www.volunteersrock.org/aem/general/ (fb)

This was truly such an incredible collaboration! 📣The Volunteer Center had the wonderful opportunity to work with a few awesome groups of different generations and skills to make fidget mats for our area special education classrooms. 🙏Thank you P.J. Jacobs National Honors Society, SPASH National Honors Society, Aging & Disability Resource Center Silver Threads, and St. Paul's UMC sewing group for collecting the items, designing the mats, and sewing the final products! ❓What are fidget mats? Fidget mats contain various items that keep the hands busy for people with dementia, Alzheimer's, ADHD, Autism, etc. Developmental mats are often used with school-age kids and teach new skills. Functional mats are often used with seniors and practice learned skills. 👍Interested in doing a project like this?
