SMART EDUCATION FOUNDATION
The SMART Competition is a high school team-based STEM-Workforce Development educational program that provides a practical investigation of the smart grid. The SMART Education Foundation created and hosts the SMART Competition. The Competition is designed to provide a real-world application of technology empowering students to address a critical environmental and energy challenges. In addition to the academic elements of the competition, the program will facilitate the development of workforce and life skills including computer analysis and software design, verbal and written communication, research, teamwork and problem solving. Students will achieve an increased awareness of the smart grid, green building design, the environment, community, livability and sustainability related issues.

Competition Overview Your Future Welcome to the SMART Competition In aworld increasingly dependent on energy efficiency sustainability redesign and reuse the SMART Competition invites university and high school students to become part of the solution. Student teams will have the opportunity to use professionally available design software to create their sustainability solution while also having access to international experts who will support their efforts as mentors and sponsors. Teams are comprised of 3 to 4 students an educator sponsor and a technical professional serving as a mentor.
