Paulding Public Safety Appreciation, Inc. (PPSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to public safety employees in times of need. Founded in 2009, it supports individuals working in various public safety sectors, including law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, 911 dispatch, animal control, the Solicitor's Office, and the District Attorney's Office in Paulding County.

Purpose and Activities

PPSA aims to assist public safety personnel and their families with tangible expenses such as medical bills, utility bills, mortgage payments, grocery bills, home repairs, and hospice or funeral expenses. This support is crucial when traditional resources are insufficient or unavailable.

Fundraising Events

PPSA organizes several events to raise funds and awareness:

• Run with the Badges 5K Glow Run: This event is the largest fundraiser for PPSA and is highly popular in Paulding County. It is a fun, family-friendly 5K race that encourages community involvement in supporting local public safety heroes.
• Paulding Public Safety Appreciation Breakfast: This annual event honors public safety officials and is another key way PPSA raises funds and shows appreciation.

Financial Assistance

Since its inception, PPSA has provided significant financial support. In 2022 alone, it dispersed over $22,000 to families in need. By 2024, the organization had donated close to $200,000 cumulatively. In that year, PPSA further increased its support, providing just over $250,000 to local heroes.

PPSA is categorized under the National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) as an organization focused on Public Safety, Disaster Preparedness, and Relief. Donations to the organization are tax-deductible.
