Java’s journey started with a dramatic rescue—abandoned on a median on Route 202 and just *barely* escaping traffic. But thanks to patience, love, and DTCCC’s training magic, Java found her path to becoming an **amazing therapy dog** who brought joy to people with disabilities across the region. 🐶❤️ She was also the *very first dog* Liz trained at DTCCC—and the first pup Liz used clicker training with! 🎯 Java’s talents? * **Clicker-savvy queen** * **Therapy superstar** * **Frisbee fanatic** (until her human’s arm gave out!) * **Food connoisseur** (ate a whole chocolate cake on Halloween—miraculously no ill effects!) ...except celery. 🌟 **Celebrating 50 Years of DTCCC – And the Dogs Who Shaped Us** 🌟 Today, we honor a shining star in our DTCCC family: **Vega** 💫 Named after the second brightest star in the sky, Vega was deeply loved by Barbara Eng — and she truly lit up every room she entered. ✨ This talented girl *loved* doing Rally and was the **2nd Keeshond ever to earn her RACH** title! She was just a few Master’s points away from her RACH2 when she passed suddenly, leaving behind pawprints on all our hearts. 💔 But Vega’s true passion? 🍦 **Ice cream.** When Barbara sat down with a bowl, Vega would climb up, rest her chin on her arm, and press down *just* enough to make lifting the spoon a hilarious challenge. With soulful eyes and a slow drool, she patiently waited for the final spoonful—*always hers.* She also adored her white lamb toy, often parading it around each morning until Barbara would lovingly accept it. 🐑💕 Titles? ⭐ CH, RACH, UD, OF, CGC, AXP, AXJP, TKI, FTN, Favorite treat? 🍨 Ice cream Favorite toy? 🧸 A beloved white lamb Favorite role? 💖 The perfect companion, always by Barbara’s side.
