Nathalie Phillips is a vibrant and dedicated working mother of three, so when her husband Zach called from work and couldn't reach her, he was worried. When he finally got in contact with his children, they told him their mom was disoriented, extremely sleepy and incoherent. Zach rushed home and took Nathalie to the nearest hospital, where she was diagnosed with acute liver failure and transferred to Loyola University Medical Center. At Loyola, doctors determined Nathalie needed a new liver. Against all odds, in just 10 days, she was matched with a donor. Thanks to surgeons Oswaldo Aguirre, MD, Yucel Yankol, MD, and the Loyola transplant team, Nathalie was able to return home just 11 days after her lifesaving transplant.
