Perfecting Horizons, Inc.
In everything we do, we believe in discerning, recognizing, and thinking critically. We draw a personal living philosophy out of an expanding relationship with true science and true religion.
Perfecting Horizons, Inc.
Overview Perfecting Horizons, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that operates through its educational outreach, Perfecting Horizons Institute (PHI). PHI serves inquisitive individuals worldwide, challenging them to develop fresh perspectives and integrate science and religion in their lives.
History and Mission The organization was founded by Dr. Chris M. Halvorson, Ph.D., who initiated a study group in Boulder, Colorado, in February 2005, titled the “New Horizons Study Group.” Over time, it evolved into a public discussion group under the auspices of Perfecting Horizons Institute. The mission of PHI is to revitalize the meaning and balance that philosophy offers by training leaders in logical insight and critical thinking.
Activities Perfecting Horizons Institute hosts regular public discussions, often on Friday nights, where participants explore topics such as origin, history, and destiny. These sessions encourage attendees to build a personal living philosophy by combining science and religion. Additionally, PHI offers an online radio program known as “Symmetry of Soul,” which is broadcast on Tuesday nights and explores the interpretations of The Urantia Book.
Leadership and Outreach Dr. Chris Halvorson, with a Ph.D. in physics, is a key figure in the organization. He previously worked as a scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder. His work with The Urantia Book began in 1990, and he has been leading study groups since 1995. The organization's educational archives, including writings and audio/video recordings, are available through the PHI library.
Philosophy and Impact By fostering a deeper understanding of science and religion, Perfecting Horizons Institute aims to empower individuals to apply these insights across all aspects of their lives. This approach is part of a broader mission to enhance philosophical discourse and encourage personal growth among its members.
